About Jian
Jian Ping is the director of Art Paul of Playboy: The Man Behind the Bunny, a documentary movie on the life and impact of Art Paul, founding art director of Playboy and creator of the iconic bunny logo; and associate producer of Mulberry Child, a documentary movie based on her memoir of the same title. The book presents Jian Ping’s coming of age during the chaotic Cultural Revolution in China, while the movie focuses on the conflicts between Jian Ping and her American-grown daughter, Lisa.
Jian Ping is a contributing writer at Xinhua News, and is working now on her next book titled Soul Treks: Healing by Trekking in Nepal and Japan, and Pandemic-Virtually on the Camino. She was born and grew up in China, and worked in the film industry in Beijing for four years before coming to the U.S. to pursue her M.A. in film at Ohio University.
